The Third Joint-Diploma Graduation Ceremony was held on 27 March, 2019 at St.Luke’s College, a Socio-Pastoral Formation Center. 38 second year students out of 40 got graduated after two years of study from 2017- 2019. The graduates came from Myitkyina, Banmaw and Kengting Dioceses.
The ceremony began in the morning with the Eucharistic celebration Presided by the Myitkyina Bishop – Most Rev. Francis Daw Tang and concelebrated by many Priests. There was a literal showers of blessing from above with rain just before the ceremony began. About 200 invited guests joined the ceremony. Fr. Leo, Director of St. Luke’s college, gave a welcome speech. Special guest was Fr. Peter Pojol, SJ, Director of EAPI from the Philippines. Bishop Francis Daw Tang gave an encouraging homily and invited the graduates to commit in their future missions. The graduates knelt down and offered their vow before the Altar during the Mass.
Right after the Mass the awarding program began. The graduated students were given completion Certificates, the Holy Bible and the Crucifix necklace. As usual two best chosen model students, two best academic students and many other group competition winners were awarded on this occasion. The ceremony ended with lunch for all participants. It was a joyous occasion indeed to see graduated students clicking photos with their parents, relatives, friends and well-wishers! All that began well before two years ended well for the graduated students with the blessings from God, benefactors and their hard labour. May God continue to bless them in their future frontier missions!
