Today, 15 June 2022, St. Luke’s College, Socio-Pastoral Formation center, organized a tree planting activity on the campus as an annual implementation of the ‘Laudato Si,’ the encyclical of Pope Francis. In spite of the torrential monsoon rain, the staff, students, lecturers and volunteers actively participated and planted more than a hundred treelings.

The activity was carried out after the usual early morning Eucharistic celebration. A short prayer service and blessing of the treelings to be planted were conducted before the college’s Marian Grotto. Mr. Nlam Gam Li, External Relation Dean, gave a short speech on tree planting and the intention of Pope Francis. Then, Fr. Kurt also gave a short Gospel reflection on the morning’s  tree planning activity.
